Greater Brighton Fire protection district

 
General Information: The Greater Brighton Fire Protection District (i.e. “Fire District”) protects approximately 150 square miles of residential, commercial, industrial, and open lands located in Adams and Weld Counties. The Fire District currently operates 17 fire engines and trucks and 5 fire stations.  The Fire District is staffed by 55 full-time firefighters, 15 reserve fire fighters, 4 administrative personnel and 6 civilian staff members.
 
District Oversight: The five-member Fire District Board is elected by the District residents and meets monthly to review and approve the Fire District’s operations and finances.
 
Property Tax Usage: Approximately 85% of the Fire District's operations is funded through property taxes.
